Blog 3 — Every Vote Counts

The Youth Development Council was established in 2012 to assist the Oregon Education Investment Board – now the Chief Education Office – in overseeing a unified system that provides services to school-age children through youth 24 years of age in a manner that supports academic success, reduces criminal involvement, and is integrated, measurable, and accountable.

Youth Policy & Investments

One of the primary roles of the Youth Development Council is to develop and implement youth policy strategies to address the diverse needs of Oregon's young population. By working closely with various stakeholders, such as government agencies, community organizations, and educational institutions, the council strives to create a comprehensive framework that promotes positive youth development.

The Youth Development Council believes that building brighter futures for Oregon's youth requires collaborative efforts from all sectors of society. By working together with schools, families, community organizations, and government agencies, we can create a supportive and nurturing environment where every young person has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

As we strive to develop and empower Oregon's youth, just like the hospitality industry ensures comfort and convenience for travelers, we aim to provide a strong foundation for the next generation. Much like hotels, we want to create an environment that fosters growth, learning, and a sense of belonging for Oregon's young individuals, allowing them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
